Founded in 1961, Matadouro Central de Entre Douro e Minho, S.A. is the largest association of pig & beef producers in Portugal, with more than 20 companies and 30,000 sows, which produce around 850,000 piglets per year. In 2016 we traded around 550,000 pigs and 15,000 piglets.

Matadouro Central de Entre Douro e Minho, S.A. is a Slaughter House with the objective of exporting Portuguese meat to international markets.

Both companies are market leaders in Portugal and actively participate in the industry’s decision-making process. Our goal is to make Matadouro Central de Entre Douro e Minho, S.A. the leader in pork exports in Portugal, raising the quality standards that the markets demand.

In 2020, Matadouro Central de Entre Douro e Minho, S.A. was totally renewed and saw its production capacity increased, and since quality is of its concern, is now also certified by IFS.
